Hub Features and Details

  • When does my Hub update?

    • Your Hub updates early each morning when the Reference sites update.

  • How are Key Performers defined?

    • In each game summary, we show three key performers from each team.

For MLB, we always show the team’s starting pitcher first, regardless of whether or not their performance was successful. They are followed by the top two hitters on the team, as determined by an internal scoring system.

For the NBA, WNBA, and Men’s and Women’s College Basketball, we show each team’s top three performers by Game Score. Game Score was created by John Hollinger to give a rough measure of a player's productivity for a single game. The scale is similar to that of points scored, (40 is an outstanding performance, 10 is an average performance, etc.).

For the NFL and College Football, we show each team’s top player by passing yards, rushing yards, and receiving yards.

For the NHL, we always show the team’s starting goalkeeper and also show the top two players for each team by points (with goals and shots as tie-breakers).

  • What counts as a notable game?

    • At this time, the Notable Games section displays key performances that match a specific set of criteria.

For MLB, we show no-hitters, cycles, and top performances by hits, home runs, and strikeouts.

For the NBA, WNBA, and Men’s and Women’s College Basketball, we show Triple Doubles and games that reached a certain threshold by points, rebounds, assists, blocks, and/or steals.

For the NFL and College Football, we show top performances by passing, rushing, and receiving yards, touchdowns, sacks, and interceptions.

For the NHL, we show top performances by points, goals, assists, and saves.

  • Why are some players not on the leaderboards?

    • Season leaderboards for rate statistics will only show players who qualify for that statistic. The Last 28, 14, and 7 day views have low minimum requirements to help eliminate extremely small samples.
