Pinch hitting statistics can be found in several places on Baseball Reference. The total number of pinch hit appearances in each season by a player can be found in the Appearances table on the player's page:
Full Statistics as a pinch hitter are accessible on each player's Splits page in the Defensive Positions table. To access that data, click Splits in the menu on the left hand side of the player page, then select either "Career" or any season under "Batting".
The "as PH" row contains the pinch hitting data for the player. There is also a "as PH for DH" row for when a player pinch hits for a Designated Hitter. Note that these pinch hitting appearances replacing the Designated Hitter are included in both the "as DH" split and the "as PH" split. The total number of games listed in these defensive splits also only include games in which the player was responsible for a plate appearance, so games where a player was announced as a pinch hitter but was replaced before they faced a pitch are not tallied in the "G" column.
Clicking the red text in the table, e.g. "as PH", will show the split breakdown for each year of the player's career.
A brief summary of pinch hit data, including H, HR and the average leverage of the player's pinch hit appearances, can also be found in the Situational Batting tables on a player's Advanced Stats page. This is also accessible from the menu on the left of player pages, under "Finders & Advanced Stats".
Similar pages to the above exist for individual teams and for the league as a whole, and can be also be accessed through the navigational menu on team and season pages. For example, the following link contains the Defensive Positions table with the pinch hitting split data for the 2026 Tigers:
And for a league-wide summary in 2026, click the following link:
Clicking the red "as PH" text in the above link will show a breakdown of every team's pinch hitting stats that season. Clicking the team names will then show the data for each player on that team.
You can get also more split data by creating custom searches in the
Split Finder search tools on
Stathead Baseball, our subscription research site. For example, here are the players with the most pinch hit home runs from 2021 to 2023:
