Who Gets Credited for Being a Pro Bowler

According to the NFL, a player is officially credited with a Pro Bowl selection if any of the following apply:
  1. The player was among the initial selections announced by the league. This is the most straightforward case. Players voted in through the standard selection process are recognized as Pro Bowlers regardless of whether they ultimately played in the game.
  2. The player was a replacement selection who actually played in the Pro Bowl. If a replacement suits up and plays, they receive official Pro Bowl credit.
  3. The player was a replacement selection who was forced to decline because they were playing in the Super Bowl. A replacement named to the roster but unable to play due to a Super Bowl appearance is still credited with the Pro Bowl selection.
Players who were named as replacements but declined for other reasons are not officially credited with a Pro Bowl selection under the NFL's standard.
