Team vs. Individual Passing Yards
In most cases, team passing yards will not equal the sum of that team's individual passing yards. This is because for team totals, sack yardage is subtracted from the total passing yards.
In the example below, the 2024 Steelers' passing table shows 3,264 in the Team Totals row, although the three QBs' passing yards add up to 3,607 yards.
By subtracting 3,264 from 3,607, you get the total sack yardage lost by the Steelers in that season (343).
