On team pages, the total number of team turnovers will usually not match the sum of individual turnovers. This is because there is a category of turnovers known as 'team turnovers', which are not charged to individual players. Most often these are shot clock violations, but they can also include other types of violations such as 8-second violations and 5-second violations.
